On 10th October 2025, Baboon Project Kenya Host its annual conservation charity golf tournament at the Nakuru Golf Club, situated at the base of Menengai Crater. The Tournament will coincide with the celebrations to mark Kenya's Environment Day (Mazigira Day) - a public holiday focused on environment conservation and sustainability.
This Conservation Golf Cup event is designed to advocate for sustainable conservation, with all funds raised going towards the reforastation and restoration of the Menengai forest.
Menengai Crater is recognized as the second-largest caldera in the world, and unfortunately, it has experienced significant forest degradation due to human activities such as deforestation, charcoal production, and agricultural practices, which have contributed to a decrease in native tree species in the area.
The crater is well-known for its ecotourism potential, offering activities like hiking, bird watching, rock climbing, and visits to geothermal plants and local craft shops. It attracts a diverse range of visitors, including schools, groups, and individuals from both local and international backgrounds.
The Annual Conservation Golf Cup Tournament will play a crucial role in advancing our mission, with all proceeds aimed at reforestation, restoring and protecting Menengai Forest, We invite individuals and organizations to join us in organizing the Conservation Golf Cup Tournament through available sponsorship opportunities.
